I make no apologies for my guides at this point in time. I no longer take assignments from IGN. The Guides I write now are for my own benefit as well as that of other players who may enjoy my style and appreciate my own idiosyncratic methods of logging data.
My Guides always have been based on MY own game experiences. There was a time when I was requested to write Guides on deadline and told to garner information as quickly as possible from any one and every one willing to provide it. That resulted frankly in errors. At least if the Guides are based on my own experiences, I and any players who use them KNOW they must be correct (unless I have made a typing error, which does occur from time to time, especially where numbers are concerned. I am terrible with zeros.) They may be less than comprehensive but in time, usually will become comprehensive. If you look at my General Guide for the old Animal Crossing Wild World, you will see how much information ultimately was packed into THAT tome.
Here, therefore, is my own Items List in the New Leaf Animal Crossing, based solely on teh Items I have found, caught, obtained through purchase or barter or received as Gifts!
